Frequently Asked Questions
Quality fittings are installed on the windows you purchased. Make sure that the window handle is always up/down or horizontal. Leaving the handle in the intermediate position may cause the door to open incorrectly. For the window to function properly, the moving elements (fittings) must be lubricated with oil (acid-free) at least twice a year. Do not attach anything (except shutters with the intended weight) to the window sash – this may cause difficult closing, sagging and other problems.
The window should be cleaned regularly and special attention should be paid to the drainage openings, which must be always opened. Cleaning the window is done with warm water and a suitable soft cloth, and for more stubborn dirt, a cleaning detergent can be added. Highly soiled windows can be cleaned effortlessly with the help of special cleaners. It is very important to not use abrasive cleaning materials! Do not use harsh preparations containing solvents, acetone, etc. Do not use hard or cutting objects (putty knives, razor blades, household staples, wire brushes etc.).
Seals along the frame and wing also need to be cleaned of dust and other contaminants. If the seal protrudes from the groove, it is enough to just press it with your thumb, starting from where the seal lies. Do not use sharp or cutting objects – you may injure the seal, which can cause additional complication.
Under certain weather conditions, the windows may sweat – this is the result of warm air meeting cold. The phenomenon is most commonly observed when high humidity and low outside temperatures are combined. A prerequisite for maximum prevention of this phenomenon is proper ventilation.
Unlike the old single glazing windows, through your new windows everything is visible without deformation of the image which is due to their extremely flat surface. Occasionally, at certain angles of light refraction, it is possible to see rainbow colors. This is a physical phenomenon and does not represent a defect of the glass.
The glasses are best cleaned with clean warm water, a towel and glass cleaning products. Avoid the use of corrosive or solvent-containing preparations.
Regular ventilation of the premises prevents the increase of humidity and hence the formation of mold. Ventilate regularly (3-4 times) by opening all available windows in the premises for about 5 minutes. Foggy windows are a signal that the room must be ventilated.
Avoid contact with lime, sand and other abrasive materials. All moving parts of the hardware must be lubricated with oil or grease free of resins and acids. If the window is difficult to open contact your supplier.
Do not place logs or other objects in order to prevent the window from colliding with the draft. Only damage and malfunction of the product can be caused by this.
Instructions for use and safety, including the replacement of structural elements.
- Open the window? Windows with single-plane opening: To open the window it is necessary to turn the handle to the side (90°) and then pull the sash towards you to the desired position. – Windows with two-plane opening: Opening the window sideways (along the axis of the hinges) is done as with a single-plane opening. To open the window from the top to the bottom edge, it is necessary to turn the handle up (180°) and then carefully pull the sash towards you to the desired position. IMPORTANT! Do not turn the handle to open the window from above when it is open to the side. This releases the upper hinge and the sash may fall. When opening the window from above, it is always necessary to make sure that the lower edge of the window is tightly attached to the frame.
- Close the window? To close the window from an open position, it is necessary to close the sash until it fits snugly to the frame, then turn the handle to the down position.
- Dangerous: With a side window open (e.g. for ventilation), it is possible to create an air flow that will cause the window to close unintentionally. In this case, it is possible that if you are in the closing area, the sash will hit, pinch or break and cut pieces of glass. RECOMMENDATION: In case of strong wind or the possibility of creating an air current, please close the window. In case the current is caused intentionally, make sure that their open position is locked. IMPORTANT! There is a risk of falling through the window. Keep children away from the window when it is open.
- If you find any irregularities (difficult to close, sag, etc.), please contact a specialist to locate and eliminate the problem.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the profiles, glass and fittings, which is not covered by the warranty!
